Unsure which is right for you- Stainless Steel or Brass?
At My Avenue, we offer both materials in majority of our Tapware range, as we recognise the unique advantages each material offers to different homes, and rooms.

Material Composition:
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, typically with varying proportions of each, while Stainless Steel is an alloy of Iron, containing chromium, nickel, and other elements.

Colour and Appearance:
Brass provides warm, golden tones that develop a unique patina over time, while Stainless Steel has a cool, lustrous appearance, maintaining a polished look.

Corrosion Resistance:
While brass is resistant to corrosion, it develops a protective patina over time. It also can corrode under certain conditions, especially when exposed to saltwater or acidic environments. Stainless Steel on the other hand, is highly resistant to corrosion due to chromium content.

Durability:
Brass is durable, but may show signs of wear over time, whereas Stainless Steel is extremely durable, and can maintain a polished look with minimal wear.

Maintenance:
Stainless Steel requires minimal maintenance, unlike Brass which requires occasional polishing to maintain appearance.

Weight:
Brass is heavier than Stainless Steel.

Care Instructions

Brass naturally oxidises over time, developing a slight patina. If you prefer to minimise this patina, clean and polish the tapware regularly, and avoid leaving water droplets on your tapware which can leave watermarks. Use a soft cloth when cleaning or polishing, and avoid using abrasive scrubbers which can scratch the surface. Avoid using any harsh chemicals when cleaning. My Avenue brass tapware should be used indoors only, and any exposure to weather elements like rain, sunlight, and temperature fluctuations will affect the appearance over time.
